Wikipedia says of Self Hypnosis that, “Self-hypnosis happens when a person hypnotises oneself, commonly involving the use of autosuggestion. The technique is often used to increase motivation for a diet, to quit smoking, or to reduce stress.”

Many people think there is something about trance that is markedly different from their ‘normal’ state of consciousness. This is not the case. A light trance feels the same as relaxation. Trance is a normal, natural state where you feel increasing levels of relaxation. A popular misconception is that during a trance induction, the client losing control. This is not the case!

In fact all Hypnosis is Self Hypnosis. You hypnotise yourself by following the instructions that are given to you and actualise the suggestions that are aligned to your personal moral code.

When you are in a relaxed state then the Unconscious Mind opens up to accepting suggestions as well as new pathways to learning. To learn something easily, you can request that the Unconscious Mind does that for you and it will support you. Your Unconscious Mind can organise and flow information to you easily and effortlessly.

In trance, we can tap into genuine power to produce changes in our lives, healing what needs to be healed, preserving learnings from the past, and to create new neurological connections to manifest our dreams. If we have rapport with our Unconscious Minds, we will have all the resources we need to create our future desires.

Milton Erickson said that “patients are patients because they are out of rapport with their own Unconscious Mind”. Clients in Hypnotherapy are individuals who have got some much going on in their external reality, they have lost touch with their inner self. When you are in rapport with your Unconscious Mind you are also in command of your destiny.
